2001 American Airlines NIFA National Safety Award

The Team is proud to have earned this award at Nationals in Grand Forks, North Dakota, in May 2001. The criteria for the award included:

• Campus and community contributions to aviation safety
  
• Ramp operations and safety record throughout the year
  
• Safety Officer interview with the American Airlines Safety Judge
  
• Presentation of the team's Safety Notebook

The Team is also proud to have earned this award at Regionals in Melbourne, Florida, in October 2000. The criteria for the award were similar to those of Nationals, including:

• Campus and community contributions to aviation safety
  
• Ramp operations and safety during the Regional competition
  
• Safety Officer interview with the NIFA Safety Judge
  
• Presentation of the team's Safety Notebook

The Team earned an honorable mention in a safety poster contest sponsored by the Instructor Pilots Association, the Future Professional Pilots Association, ERAU, and the FAA. The poster received an award and recognition from ERAU's Aviation Safety Manager and Chief Air Safety Investigator, Grant Brophy.

ERAU Chancellor Connelly was present to view the posters and give a speech about aviation safety awareness. His words both praised the efforts of those dedicated to aviation safety and illustrated how much work remains to be done.
